Words can't express the honor it was to be at this birth. Sweet Mercy was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 and was not expected to live. I was there to document the time they had with her and to share in the joy and sorrow of her birth. I was honored. Everything went smoothly and the staff at the hospital was really wonderful. The best part is Mercy is still with her family. They know she won't last too much longer, but every minute they get to share with her is truly a gift from God.
I was honored to help this family have their first baby. Their plan was to have a natural hospital birth using Hypnobabies and not only to they succeed, but they did an amazing job. This mom was STRONG and beautiful all through labor and her husband was a ROCK in supporting her. He was almost as amazing as my own hubby and that is saying a lot, because I personally think my hubby is awesome ;) Either way, they had a gorgeous baby girl when it was all said and done. They were so overjoyed and proud. It was an honor to support them and document this time. Congrats you guys!
Working with toddlers can be challenging. But usually I have a few tricks up my sleeve that makes it a lot easier. This session couldn't have worked out better. We got some beautiful images of mom and dad before sweet M woke up from her nap. We were able to include her in this special time as well. I love documenting the sweet moments a little family has before adding another member.
I had the honor of photographing Mercury's big sisters birth a few years ago and was so honored to get to help welcome this little man into the world. Amazingly, he wasn't so little! He weighed in at 10lbs 7oz and was just as beautiful as his big sister. Thanks again you guys for having me there. It is always a pleasure!

We recommend sweet, vintage clothes for your kiddos. Boys can wear overalls and shirts, or more classic vintage clothing. Girls can wear nightgowns, vintage dresses, denim, or a blouses and bloomers. Think light and airy as that is the type of mini session this is. Here are some places that offer clothes that we think work well for the session (if nothing strikes your fancy- search www.etsy.com for vintage or prairie clothing):
I was so excited to get the call that this mama was in labor. She was supposed to have a scheduled c-section, so labor meant we were going to try naturally instead! Not only was she amazingly strong and beautiful, but her sweet hubby stood next to her and supported her through it all. The emotion in the room when this sweet little girl was born was incredible. I think her daddy's face when he is meeting her for the first time, says it all. I was honored to have been there. I am trying to catch up on blogging, so watch for her maternity and newborn pics soon!
I love this little family! They have been with me since before their sweet girl was born and I just adore getting to watch her grow. I am even more excited to see their family grow next April too! I couldn't believe how big sweet Caitlin had gotten, running all over and dancing. She was still all smiles though and the love in their family was evident. Enjoy!
I very rarely have to reschedule session due to births. Somehow it always seems to work out. However, This poor couple was bumped twice! Early in the week I had a client go in for an induction. We decided to reschedule, just in case. We met up the following Saturday instead. Wouldn't you know that about half way through our session, I get a call from a client saying she is 10cm and I should come now! Holy cow! I felt badly for jolting out, but it had to happen! So I was glad when the NEXT Saturday, we had absolutely lovely weather and the perfect location. The gardens were blooming and mom and dad just looked amazing. I love outdoor maternity images and these are some of my favorites!
Sweet Kennedy arrived as scheduled to an amazingly loving family. Her dad, being a high school football coach, asked that she come inbetween game weeks and she did! If she wasn't going to have him wrapped around her finger already, that would have done it. She came out with the most gorgeous curly hair and an attitude to match! She was strong and fiesty! She knew what she wanted (to eat) and was going to let everyone know about it. It was great! It is always such an honor to see the instant bond of a new family and this was no exception. Congrats you guys!
