FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • We recommend your session take place within the first 2-3 weeks of birth if you are wanting a posed session. This is when your baby is the most sleepy and posable. If you want a lifestyle session, then the time frame is more flexible and can be done in the first 2-3 months. Although keep in min your baby will grow quickly, so if you are wanting to capture that tiny human stage, schedule sooner rather than later!

  • As soon as you know you are going to want a session, please reach out. We love having time to really create a plan for your session. We do keep a few spots open for last minute sessions, so even if you are late in scheduling, feel free to reach out.

  • When you call to schedule your session, we put your session date as your due date. This holds a spot for you on our calendar. When you baby arrives (early, on-time, or late) you simply contact us and we plan for an exact date and time for your session.

  • You will receive a Newborn Session Prep Guide before your session that will walk you through what you will need. You will not need much beside what you would normally take on an outing with your newborn.

  • Absolutely! We strongly encourage parents to be in photographs as well as siblings. A pet is welcome in the session, but this takes significant planning and extra time, so please talk with us ahead of time.

  • We do not shoot posed newborn sessions outside of our studio. These sessions require specific lighting, temperature and are prop heavy. For this reason, we only offer them in our studio.

  • Eeek! That can be so stressful and change your best laid plans. With that said, you are not alone. We have worked with plenty of clients who have babies who are or were in NICU. If you expect your baby to be out of NICU in a reasonable time, we just schedule your session when that happens. If you have a medically fragile baby who will be in the hospital for awhile, reach out. We have done in-hospital sessions for families like yours.
