This is literally my favorite time of year!  Bluebonnet mini sessions are a Texas tradition and this year, the bluebonnets should be gorgeous!  The cold weather we have had should bring them up and keep them around for awhile.  We are on it and are scheduling now to make sure we are ready to go as soon as they show up.  The mini session fee is $50.  You will be provided a proof gallery of 5-7 images approximately 2 weeks after your session.  You will be able to purchase digital files for $75 each.  There is no minimum purchase.  Alternatively, you can Pre-purchase your entire gallery ahead of time for a discounted price of $250.  It will include all the finished images that would have appeared in your proofing gallery.  This is the best way to save and come away with beautiful bluebonnet images.

To get started, complete the form below!  We will be in touch shortly to finish up the process!

I love this family! I have gotten to photograph this mama while she was expecting all of her kiddos. I was ofcourse honored to add the newest soon to be addition to the list. We did something a little fun this time around and I loved the images we captured! We photographed at sunset on the beach in Grapevine. I even broke out the off camera flash for this session! Enjoy this gorgeous mama and he belly!

This lovely mama came into the studio to document her pregnancy.  These are some of my favorite sessions!  Women are just so beautiful when expecting a baby!  She brought her wedding dress in to see if we could modify it to use in the session and it turned out to be an amazing gown for a belly session.  She looked just gorgeous.  You never know until you try and in this case, it paid off!

Working with toddlers can be challenging. But usually I have a few tricks up my sleeve that makes it a lot easier. This session couldn't have worked out better. We got some beautiful images of mom and dad before sweet M woke up from her nap. We were able to include her in this special time as well. I love documenting the sweet moments a little family has before adding another member. asmaternity_web_1

{The Blowing Belly Tutorial} Photoshop Tutorial for Photographers

Nothing is more beautiful than a pregnant glowing mama to be. I adore maternity sessions. When I do a studio set up, as demonstrated below, it can be challenging at times to come up with different ways of showing off that beautiful belly. This is one of my favorites. As another photog said, "That is Art!" I agree. It can be a challenging image to finish however, so I thought a quick tutorial might help! First I am going to show you a quick snapshot of the scene pulled back. This will help describe my set up.

She was standing in her entry way and I was shooting from the living room into the entry way. Our light source was the front door. You can all laugh at my mad drawing skills ;)

For the steps:

1. SOOC (Straight Out of Camera) Please note how the fabric is held up by the clamps. blowingbelly_1

2. Liquify! You can see how big my brush was. I simply pulled the image in the direction it was already flowing. blowingbelly_2

3. It may take my several attempts in liquify to get the fabric to look natural. This is not tedious, so feel free to just start over from scratch if it isn't looking right. Remember to keep the fabric flowing in a it's natural direction. Once you are finished liquifying, it should roughly look like this.

Once you finish liquifying, you will see areas on your backdrop where the image looks "pulled". Use your clone tool (stamper) or your heal tool (bandaid) to blend those areas. You don't want it to appear obvious. I may also use the blur tool to soften those areas.

4. I finished the image with my standard post processing. I did use portraiture at 60% and I also burned the background using layer masks so that the "pulling" I mentioned above wasn't as obvious.

I very rarely have to reschedule session due to births. Somehow it always seems to work out. However, This poor couple was bumped twice! Early in the week I had a client go in for an induction. We decided to reschedule, just in case. We met up the following Saturday instead. Wouldn't you know that about half way through our session, I get a call from a client saying she is 10cm and I should come now! Holy cow! I felt badly for jolting out, but it had to happen! So I was glad when the NEXT Saturday, we had absolutely lovely weather and the perfect location. The gardens were blooming and mom and dad just looked amazing. I love outdoor maternity images and these are some of my favorites!

{Stunning from head to toe} Dallas- Highland Park- University Park Maternity Photographer

When I first met this mama, she had her hair pulled back into a pony. I will fully admit that I didn't think it was all her hair. I totally thought she was wearing one of those fake hair pony tail things (I know, very technical term- LOL) but then she yanked it out and down came the most incredible hair I have ever seen. Well, fast forward to maternity pictures and not only does she still have incredible hair but she has a perfect belly to match! She was just stunning. I was so glad that we got the maternity pictures in when we did too, because she went into labor early and we barely made it! Ok, enough chat, show the pictures!

I will be blogging more of this session in the coming week or so, but I just had to share one so this mama could see how beautiful she is! She not only has a beautiful belly, but her hair is stunning! Long and full and totally makes me jealous! Just the one...

I was beyond thrilled when this gorgeous mama contacted me about doing a maternity session.  She envisioned wheat fields and a sundress, maybe some overalls, etc and I was thrilled!  I love outdoor maternity sessions and this one was certainly different.  I was so happy with how they turned out as well.  We even had a toddler cooperate for the session!
